Each year, a growing number of counterfeit circuit breakers and other electrical
products flood the market. These cheap knock-offs look like the real thing,
but they don’t perform like it – fake parts can explode, ignite fires and
lead to injury or even death. For your business, for everyone’s safety,
learn
to recognize the risks.
In 2015, Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) regulations around the use of Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters changed, with potentially life saving results. Protect your customers and their homes from the dangers of electrical fires caused by arc faults. Learn more about 2015 CEC changes with advice from Westburne and the experts at Eaton.

Power surges can strike from outside of the home (i.e. lightening strikes) or from within (i.e. power bumps). They can fry circuit boards in appliances and other home electronics without warning. Safeguard your investments with two layers of surge protection

Downtime carries an enormous price tag, so it is critical to minimizeinterruption
to your operations. However, electrical emergenciesare often inevitable
due to the unexpected nature of blackouts, equipment failures, hurricanes,
lightning, floods, high windsand other natural disasters.
The risk of an arc flash event is real—an arc flash can instantaneously
generate temperatures about four times the temperature of the sun.
An arc flash is associated with the explosive release of energy caused
by an electrical arc, due to either a phase-to-ground or a phase-to-phase
fault. These kinds of faults can result from many factors— a dropped
tool, accidental contact with electrical systems, buildup of conductive
dust, corrosion or improper
work conditions.
Electrical equipment used in cold weather regions are subjected to different
environmental conditions than covered by most standard approvals. There
are two main areas of concern for products used in cold weather—safety
and function. This paper will examine factors affecting the safety
of equipment in areas classified for explosive atmospheres as well
as the functionality of electrical equipment at low temperatures.
